How can I load csv data to base?

I’ve spent two hours trying to load Calc data to Base. Past instructions say to copy the data from the Calc spreadsheet and do an Edit>Paste into a Base table. When the dialog comes up I select the Append option, then all the table fields match the first data row in the next dialog. But after I hit Create nothing happens. No data loaded to the table.
What am I doing wrong?

Generating a base DB from Calc

  1. Consolidate Calc table

  2. Open Base-DB (new).

  3. In the DB Assistant, select “Connect to an existing database”.

  4. Specify connection and file name.

  5. Open a saved base DB additionally open a new base DB.

  6. Copy the table in the stored base DB.

  7. Insert the table in the new base DB.

@ldekay This is usually a simple process to copy data into your DB table from a spreadsheet. However you do not provide helpful information. What OS are you using? What is the specific LO version? What database are you using (look at lower left corner of main Base screen)? What instructions are you following (many listed just in this forum)?

Not much information provided to be able to resolve the problem. To start, please refer to the LO documentation found here → LibreOffice Base Handbook. See Chapter 3 - Tables. There is a section in there titled Importing data from other sources.
