I tried to do this through Avast to which I subscribe but it just seems to stall, i.e. it says it is downloading but does not change to install. Uninstalling the old version so that I can download new also seems impossible. I use windows 10

- Go to https://www.libreoffice.org
- Click on “Download”
- Scroll down to “LibreOffice 6.1.5”
- Select “Windows x86_64” (if you have a 64-bit Windows) in drop down below “Choose your operating system:”
- Click the yellow “Download” field
- Download of “LibreOffice_6.1.5_Win_x64.msi (271 MB)” should start automatically. Select a location where to store the file.
- Optional but recommended: Click on the green button text with “LibreOffice built-in Help” if you want the help files
- Optional but recommended: Store file LibreOffice_6.1.5_Win_x64_helppack_de.msi to the same place as above
- Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the directory where you have stored the 2 files from above
- Double click to LibreOffice_6.1.5_Win_x64.msi - and installation will start
- Double click to LibreOffice_6.1.5_Win_x64_helppack_de.msi - and help files installation will start
