The reason does not matter, but I have a few files that do not exist coming up when i open Libre Calc and hit the down arrow by "open file". I am using Linux Mint Cinnamon 19.1 (love it). Soem on line tell me to go to the "file list" to make a deletion. Obviously I cant do that with a file that does not exist. Thanks

Have you tried opening the LibreOffice dashboard or initial panel? There you will find thumbnails of all your recent documents, including the ones that no longer exist. Hover your cursor over the thumbnail of any file that doesn't exist and click on the "X" that appears in the upper right corner. That will delete it from the list. Even files that still exist can be "deleted" from the list in this way; they just won't appear in the recent documents list until you access them again.
