I set the cell formatting for date and the style I prefer, then after several uses, it stops working, even when I reiterate at the individual cell or the entire column. Sometimes it works again after a while.
Also there is a typo at the login

As for your problem, there is more information needed:
The more details you provide the faster a solution can be found.
Initially I highlighted the column and set it to date and the style I like = 06/19/2013
When it failed I reiterated - both the column and the cell
It indicated that it was still set to date and style

That is the only column in this spreadsheet that I customized.
FYI…I have a rather large (well, not really, maybe 100kb) writer sheet that crashes pretty regularly, usually recovers but this time almost all the text disappeared and there was no indication and no recovery attempt. I did get an error when I opened it telling me stuff was gone. I reopened it but almost all (6 1/2 pages out of 7) was gone.
