What functionality for docbook users?

Hello, I have tried to import a few docbook documents into libreoffice and got an empty page. Are there any limitations to the kind of docbook files libreoffice can read?
thanks

LibreOffice can’t read DocBook files directly. Here’s some guidance, but I don’t know if it is still relevant for LibreOffice:

https://www.openoffice.org/xml/xmerge/docbook/

@gabix, thanks for the pointer.
I have just created a valid docbook file with LibreOffice by saving an empty LibreOffice document with the “docbook format” option.
Here is the xml declaration inserted by LibreOffice in this docbook file:

<!DOCTYPE article PUBLIC
"-//OASIS//DTD DocBook XML V4.1.2//EN"
"http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/xml/4.1.2/docbookx.dtd">

So it appears LibreOffice can deal with the docbook files version 4, it can’t read files based on
the newer format based on NG Relax (used in docbook version 5).
Is there a roadmap for the future support for docbook? I couldn’t find anything else written on this topic, in addition to the OpenOffice page mentioned by gabix.

Try using an external tool for the conversion such as pandoc. Pandoc support converting from and to both, odt and DocBook 4 and 5.

Thanks, pandoc helped: with it I managed to exchange spreadsheets back and forth between docbook on one end, and libreoffice or MS Excel on the other end, via html as an intermediate format
