Trying to remove duplicates from a spreadsheet. Used DATA>MORE FILTERS>ADVANCED FILTERS Selected label column and then scrolled down to last entry while holding down shift key to select range. See image.

When I click OK I get the above error message. Running on Mac OS Mojave

Looks as you are introducing the data range, not the filter range. Filter: Applying Advanced Filters.
But it's possible to do it with standard filter Menu/Data/More filters/Standard filter, so you don't need to define a filter range.
