I am new to Writer. I have an A4 page of text and I want make part of it 2 columns. I’ve managed to find the input box for columns in Format-Page-Columns, but no matter what I input it makes the whole page 2 columns. How can I just make say 2 paragraphs 2 columns and the rest of the page 1 column. Any help would be grateful.

To get a variable number of columns on a single page, you need to use sections: on a normal page (no columns) go to Insert → Section and set the number of columns you need.
