Printing has stopped working in LO 6.1

I am using LO 6.1.5.2 on a Windows 10 HP laptop. Printing to my Canon Pixma MG5600 series printer has stopped working. I tried checking for update of printer driver but it simply says I have the most up to date driver. Does anyone know how I can cure this problem?

Hello - other applications than LibreOffice can still print? Have you tried to reset your LibreOffice user profile (see FAQ)? Have you checked your Windows printer queue for files arriving there? Any error messages from within LibreOffice?

Hi Opaque,

Many thanks. Printing a pdf file from Foxit forced through the document from Writer. I had cleared the printer queue each time a Writer document would not print but it didn’t seem to make any difference. Printing from LO Calc worked but took a long time. Printing from Thunderbird was also OK but also took a long time. Printing from Google Chrome similarly took a long time.

I have a horrible suspicion that the problem is not with LO Writer. It shouldn’t be the Wi-Fi that’s causing the problems. According to Virgin Media their Hub is fast.

I have to conclude that the problem lies with the printer. According to Windows 10 Control Panel the printer is working correctly. I shall have to pursue matters through Microsoft.

Thank you for spending time to consider what could be causing these problems. I shall have to contact Microsoft now.

Kind regards,

Derek Murray

Hi. I found through another forum that my printer - Canon Pixma MG5650 - cannot communicate at 5GHz. After re-setting my Wi-Fi to 2.4GHz it started printing as quickly as it ought to.
