You can download LibreOffice here. They are *.msi- files. You have to do this (double-click), see https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/....

Thanks for your reply, but it only applies to modern windows and LO ver.6.1.2.3. What about users of Vista want to install LO ver. 5.x.x.x.?

You should install it into your OS. Just double click on .exe file and follow master.

Did you download a file from the archive? If so, what is the name and extension of the file?

Installers for Windows have MSI extensions. It doesn't change the idea nevertheless: just double-click the MSI to start installation process, and click through the wizard, making sure to select the necessary components (or just take the suggested defaults).

The download page contains the link How do I install LibreOffice?, with step-by-step instructions:

One potential problem I see is that the OP needs an older version such as v5.4.x and for the last few days,

each time I try to access the archive I get this message - Service Temporarily Unavailable.

yes!!! When the archive is up again, how do you install these.old.versions?
