X axis labels out of data interval in a bar chart

Hi! I installed LO 6.0 . I have a Calc sheet whit many columns, each row contain monthly report of something. Column A contains dates formatted YYYY/MMM, so I have a row for each year / month.
If I produce a bar chart with cells range A3:F45 I obtain a chart with monthly amounts on Y axis and year/month on X axis, X axis has labels containing year/month as they appear in column A.
If I produce a bar chart with range G3:J45, how can I put on the X axis the labels corresponding to the data contained in column A?
Thank you so much for your help.

This is probably a translation issue, but it sounds like you are talking about a column chart, not a bar chart. A column chart would have the dates on the X- axis.

Anyway, are you asking how to add the data in column A to the chart? If so, double-click the chart to put it in edit mode, then right click to open a context menu. Click Data ranges at the bottom of the menu and select the Data Series tab.

The data from column A need to go in the Categories box. To select the data, click the little box to the right of the Categories box, then drag the cursor to select the data. If it looks like that is what you want, click OK.

Is that what you were asking? Does this help?

Thank you so much Catbill, your answer has fixed my problem.
Anyway, I was speaking about a bar chart. I add my calc sheet so you can see it.

I’m curious to know if I made something in a bad manner, so please let me know what you think.
Thanks a lot.

Glad to help. I took a quick look at your chart. It is a lot of data for a bar chart. Does it need to be a bar chart? If not, a line chart would probably be more appropriate. It would make the trends for each data series much clearer.
You can easily make a line chart to see what I mean. In edit mode, just right-click on the chart, click on chart type, and choose line chart. You should not need to do anything else with the data. Hope this is helpful.
