Why do I need an administrator for my personal computer to complete install?

I have windows 8 and have used LibreOffice for years. I was trying to upgrade to to 6 programs from the 5’s and it uninstalled 5 and now the message says I have to have an administrator’s permission to install the program on my personal laptop.

an administrator’s permission

This means that as a logged in user you have to have administrator rights. In Windows, go to Start>Settings and find your account settings. Or via “Control panel” and find “User Accounts”.

Or see “Use troubleshooter tool from Microsoft” in the FAQ.

Right click on the installer package and choose Install as administrator (or something to that effect).
