How do I make a certain font size default?

Everytime I open a new document, the font size is 12. How do I make it a bigger default?

  • The poor man's solution

    Tools>Options, LibreOffice Writer>Basic Fonts (Western) where you can set type face and size for various contexts

  • A more elaborate method

    Create a blank document where you configure your styles. In addition you can also prefill some initial content. Save the document as a template. Use the template management dialog to set it as default.

    Next time you open Writer, the blank document is formatted according to your own template.
