Format Writer table cells to "date" format?

Is it possible to format cells in a writer table to be dates, so that I can click the bottom-right corner of a cell and drag it to create additional dates in chronological order, such as can be done in Calc?

Thanks.

No. Writer tables are not meant for calculation (though they have a limited abitlity restricted to sums). They are container for block of texts constrained to certain positions and “synchronisations” (i.e. a table row will have the highest cell height in that row (as is also the case in Calc).

Whenever your table looks like a spreadsheet, remember that Calc is just another module in LO (it is installed by default). It is available there. Then create your spreadsheet in Calc and insert it into Writer as an OLE objet (Insert>Object>OLE Object). You’ll benefit of the best of both apps.

Good tip about the OLE object; I had been wondering how to get more Calc functionality out of Writer… the answer? Get Calc involved!
