Chart: Difference between "near axis" and "outside start" for positioning labels

On the Axis dialog, there are options on the Positioning page for label placement. Two of the options are “near axis” and “outside start”. I don’t see any difference in what they do. Can anyone explain?

Hello,

may be some differences only show, if your chart contains negative values. Please see the following screenshots

  • Near Axis: Default - Labels below the X-Axis and within graph

  • Near Axis Other Side: Labels above the X-Axis and within graph

  • Outside Start: X-Axis and Labels below graph

  • Outside End: X-Axis and Labels above graph

Opaque, thank you for taking the time to create the charts that show the options so clearly. Very helpful.
