What does "=$'Monthly Budget'.$F$2" mean?

Hello,

Thank you for allowing me to use this awesome program. I am a novice in computer ‘code’ or formula. I am trying to work on a spreadsheet, that I downloaded and saved. The document looks fine, however, when I try to change the date, I get the following in the entry window.

1A: Month 1B: the current month 1C: year 1D: =$‘Monthly Budget’.$F$2

Please be patient with me. I have some very serious medical issues, and I didn’t understand why the current year wouldn’t appear in the window, instead of the formula.

Thank you in advance for any help, or wisdom. Have a great day! God bless you!

=$‘Monthly Budget’.$F$2
Is value of cell F2 in sheet “Monthly Budget”, maybe the year is enter in this cell, and referred from there in several cell in the worksheet.

If what you see is the formula, verify you have disable the option:
Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice/View - Formulas

And please take a quick read to program help also you can find more help the documentation in https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications#LibreOffice_Calc_Guide
It will be time invested, not spent.
