Why is everything I try drawing square?

In the newer versions of LibreOffice everything I try to draw is square. If I draw a rectangle it comes out square. If I draw a text box it comes out square. How can I stop this behaviour? I love squares as much as the next person but it’s driving me mad.

It’s as if there is an “aspect ratio” lock set to 1:1 for all new objects.

For the benefit of anyone reading this I found the solution.

Tools > Options > LibreOffice Draw > Grid
Under “Constrain Objects” un-check “when creating or moving objects”

OK, congratulations!

This really seems a bit strange.
If you draw a rectangle and press the Shift key, it will be a square.
Conversely, if you draw a square and press the shift key, you will get a rectangle.
You can test it.

If it does not work, I would suggest putting the user profile back.

That has then done.
