How can I get a straight apostrophe? Some work I do doesn’t recognise the curved apostrophe

LO Writer tries to follow the rules of traditional typography. As a consequence, by default, U+0027 APOSTROPHE and U+0022 QUOTATION MARK are replaced by their curly variant.
However, this is not desirable in all circumstances, e.g. in technical text.
You can disable the automatic replacement in Tools>AutoCorrect>AutoCorrect Options, Localized Options tab, where you uncheck the Replace box for Single or Double Quotes. Note that you can also choose which replacement character(s) to use since it may depend on the language.
