Good day. I am new to libreoffice. I worked on a document last week and when I tried to open same it gave me the following error: An error occured during opening the file. This may caused by incorrct file content. The error details are: SAXEception: [word/document.xml line2]: namespace prefix w10 on p14 is not defined. How do I fix this please
Are you working with LibreOffice and using .docx file format? If yes (and according to word/document.xml I’m pretty sure that the answer will be “yes”) the file can be only recovered, if the file document.xml from the .docx archive will be manually fixed (I do see no way to perform a recovery by means of LibreOffice). Thus you will need either extract the file, fix and reintegrate into the archive yourself or provide the file (upload here), so that someone may fix it for you.
My urgent advice for future saves: Use LO native format (.odt) for your documents instead of using alien file formats. If xou are interested in why - read this post about file formats.
Hello. Yes I am using docx file format.
If I save the document using the .odt format, will a user using Microsoft Owrd be able to open and change the file, as I send a lot of documents to clients to amend as they wish.
I wish to upload the document here so someone can help me fix it, yet I do not see an option to upload the file. Am I missing it somewhere?

In general your clients won’t be able to open .odt files (though Microsoft claims to be able to deal with the .odt format). The only solutions I see (an I personally use) is. Work with .odt files, save 'em properly and perform an export to .docx right before you send the file(s) to your clients - let make 'em their amendments, and insert the amendments into your working .odt file (avoid conversions from .docx → odt → docx → odt …, which would be almost a save way to corruption).

Here is the fixed file. I must say that the way it was damaged says about badly damaged installation. I suspect that after some failed update, some files from newer version co-exist with some older files. I have never seen such situations, but that’s the only way I can explain the observed defect. I suggest you to uninstall LibreOffice completely, clean up its program folders, clean LibreOffice user profile, and reinstall LibreOffice from scratch.
