why does swriter 6.1.6.3 used in windows 7 pro apply bullets when opened in adobe indesign

Using MS office or Textmaker does not do this. Libreoffice is my preferred writer. Thanks.

Excuse my ignorance. What is “apply bullets when opened in adobe indesign”?

You open Writer in another application? This cannot be what you really mean. May be you open a file created with Writer in another application. If that’s the fact, then please tell us the format of the file created by Writer and which you open by the other application (assuming the name of the other application is Adobe Indesign). Since Writer can create a varietey of different file formats it is essential for any substantial help to know what you do.

Yes, you are right about my poor explanation.
When I open Adobe Indesign and go CRTL+D to open a LO writer file, for some strange reason the result has the heading and sub headings numbered, which is a nuisance.
If I use MS office or Textmaker, the result does not have numbered headings, so all is well.
Thanks guys for your patience, James.
