How to vertically center a picture in a cell in writer?

when I insert picture in a table cell in writer there is a paragraph symbol under it. so it has more space under than above. if we do the same in word the picture appears with the same borders everywhere. I could make it disappear by defining the anchor “as character” but I have 300 pictures to insert and I don’t want to define every time and only works if i save the file as .docx.

someone knows I to center equally the pictures in a easy way inside of the cell? I want to start working only in libreoffice and this is a drawback.

Format cell center or simply press the center icon in the topbar

Thanks but this doesn’t solve my problem. I have done it before and doesn’t work with pictures. The picture is centered horizontally but not vertically. it has a extra line under the picture by definition that i can’t eliminate

You change “anchor” of the picture to “as character” (in order to increase your efficiency, you can choose to change anchor from the toolbar)… I tested this approach - if you save such table in DOC, MS Office opens it good as well…

ok thanks. the time i save in some tasks with libreoffice i waste in others plus the formation is much harder… so i think i will just continue with word… in any case thanks for your help

this is page where everyone can answer to you… maybe someone has better solution to your problem, so you shouldn’t give up of libreoffice that easly… maybe someone will come up with better answer… good luck, anyway!

you should try to play with the styles and formatting… I didn’t find solution, but mybe there you can define something…

The following procedure worked for me in Writer 4.2.

  1. Right-click in the cell you want to insert the image.
  2. Choose “Table…” from the context menu.
  3. This will open the “Table Format” window. Click on the “Background” tab.
  4. From the '“As” dropdown menu, choose “Graphic”
  5. Click the “Browse…” button to open the “Find graphics” window.
  6. Navigate to the file and click “Open”
  7. Under “Type” in the “Table Format” window there are three radio buttons. Click “Position”
  8. There is a graphic to the right of the “Type” radio buttons depicting a page.
  9. On this graphic, there are nine buttons which allow you to position the image in the top left, top center, top right, middle left, middle center, middle right, bottom left, bottom center or bottom right… Choose the appropriate location for your image – in your case either middle left, middle center or middle right…
