How to show the previous slide in Impress

I'm using Libre Office v6.2.3.2 (x64) on Windows 10. I want to present an Impress Slide Show using a presentation mouse, which works by transmitting PageDown and PageUp. Both these buttons on the presentation mouse produce the same behaviour in Impress Slide Shows - they advance the presentation by one slide. I also tried using my keyboard, and PageUp, PageDown, Ctrl+PageUp, Ctrl+PageDown, Left Arrow and Right Arrow all advance the presentation by one slide.

According to this help page

which details keyboard shortcuts for Impress, if there are no effects, then PageUp should display the previous slide. Also, Ctrl+PageUp should display the previous slide, irrespective of any effects.

How do I show the previous slide in Impress using the keyboard or, ideally, a presentation mouse? And/or is this a bug?

Arrow keys down, right and page down continue to count the pages (1, 2, 3 ...).

Arrow keys up, right and page up count up the pages (3, 2, 1).

Other key combinations I have not tested now.

I can not handle your problem.

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to reply. What you describe is the behaviour I would expect, and what the Libre Office help page says should happen. However for me it does not :( All those keys move the slides forward (1, 2, 3 ...).

Try to reset your user profile. And read the manual until the end.

Thanks again :-) I followed the Libre Office guidance in the link you gave me When I opened Libre Office in Safe Mode, the behaviour still occurs, so my User Profile is not the problem. I don't understand what you mean by "read the manual to the end". I did read the whole of the page here and that tells me that PageUp should move backwards through the slide show, as you described in your first reply. But my issue is not with the instructions from Libre Office. My problem is that PageUp does not exhibit that behaviour. PageUp goes forward through the slide show, behaving identically to PageDown.

I'm beginning to think I should report a bug.

I don't understand what you mean by "read the manual to the end".

My only concern was that you possibly secure your user profile beforehand.

I think an error message would be appropriate. You can enter the bug on Bugzilla, or see if there may already be an entry. Please do not forget to provide all relevant information. Thank you.
