I have a pivot table made for one of my spreadsheets. it consists of items in an inventory and it’s location. I use the pivot table to keep track of the item’s counts regardless of location, very helpful.
I uses the drop down at the top of the first column of the pivot table to to check the item’s name, which are the row I want shown in the pivot table, pretty typical…
now, when I add new items on my spreadsheet then refresh the pivot table it automatically adds the the new item in the rows of the pivot table…
Is there a way to disable it from adding those rows automatically? I only need results from 4 of the items so when I refresh it alters my counts as that new item’s row doesn’t belong…

also on a side note, this might be a “bug”…
when I change an item’s name that is in the pivot table on my spreadsheet, then refresh the pivot table it automatically adds the row and then no longer allows me to deselect it from the drop down, the check mark goes away but the row still shows, all others can be unchecked and do not show up, only the name change stays until I delete the pivot table and make a new one…
