is there a problem with Windows downloads?i

Is there a problem with Windows downloads today? Linux seems to work, Win not so much.

Please indicate which specific link/s you are using.

I tried http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/4.1.0/win/x86/LibreOffice_4.1.0_Win_x86.msi.torrent this link, but what is a torrent? It just sits there and doesn’t come in to windows.

I have discovered it is in the ARCHIVE of older installs – thank you!

LibreOffice 4.1 was released today so I would expect that the servers would be really busy.

But ggirton is referencing to torrent - small some kilobyte file that should be downloaded from servers all other traffic is from other users already downloaded LibOffice…

On the download page, to get the regular windows file (.exe) you need to click on the text “Main Installer”, not just anywhere in the green button. The Document Foundation is the first seed of each LibreOffice release so even when you download using the torrent option, you are still likely using bandwidth from TDF. So lots of torrent downloads still put a load on the LibreOffice servers. And if you don’t have a torrent app installed and you click the torrent download, you may think that the download is not working.
