I have a lot of text in a multi-page document in Writer. I know how to search for text (ctrl f) but how do I search to locate images I have put in the document? Thanks in advance!

use the navigator in View -> Navigator (or F5) and see category Images. There is a list of all your images in the document. A double click on an image will direct you to the image (select the image).
Hint: It might be helpful, if you provide names to your images using Right click -> Properties -> Tab: Options -> Cat: Names -> Option: Name
