Hi. Second draft of third novel underway (418 pages, will probably end up 350 ><). 1) Auto-save and command save take around 110 seconds to complete (no matter the number of changes) and is very disruptive. 2) Time gap between between keystroke and register onscreen is a beat and half, Typing, even slowly, means alterations appear jumbled and have to be re-written, sometime three times in order to get it in the right order. 3) ‘Invisible spaces’ are being created during alterations. Have looked at options for curtailing such but nothing is listed. Thoughts anyone?
This may be related to system problems. Which is your OS? LO version?

Are you saving the book as a .odt file? Are you using styles rather than direct formatting? What is your operating system, LibO version, language settings etc. Is this text or are there embedded images? Where are the page numbers, on the headers/footers or in the text. Have you checked your screen settings as there are some performance issues with screen settings? Have you explored the other questions dealing with this subject?
