Saving in DOC incorrectly if rotated object is grouped?

If you draw rectangle; rotate it for example 90 degree; group it with some other shapes (another rectangle for example) and save it in DOC… the shape that was rotated will not be rotated in Microsoft Office. It only happens if objects are grouped… otherwise, shapes are saved correctly.

I reported the bug since it always happens at my computer, but is it the case with you too? I would appreciate if you can confirm this bug as well.

(example file is attached here).

I have confirmed your bug and provided some further comment / testing there. It is definitely a problem for both the DOC and DOCX formats (in fact DOCX handling is worse).

thanks for confirmation… I don’t even test DOCX anymore, because my opinion is that LibreOffice does not have good support of DOCX (none of my drawings from Writer is saved correctly)… however, DOC is almost perfect…

I generally see fewer problems with DOCX and moving forward this will only become more pronounced. I understand your point though.

I recently filed a bug report concerning pptx which could be related to this bug as well fdo#66843

So far in my work I did not observer problems with docx and doc files. However, I never had graphics included. Only text with headings.

So far, problems occurs occasionally in DOC when using shapes/ drawings… DOCX will require lots of improvement when it comes to shapes/ drawings… and by my opinion, new version 4.1 did not improve DOCX compactabiliy much… while DOCX is good when it comes to text formatting, PPTX is completely wrong (text size is changed, bullets are missing etc.) but PPT works perfect. I use drawings often because any text I am writing looks better when there is some drawing

and, I don’t see connection between these two bugs… your bug is more “shape specific”, my is related to “grouping different shapes”… (it does not appear if objects are not grouped).
