Color coding is not working (probably because number formating), how can I make it work?

Hey there, Im trying to color code a sheet but Im unable to do so properly.

First, some numbers on a column are on a different format than the others, and even tho I set the whole column to be “general” number format they still remain different as seen in the picture below.

I tried adding a dot to match the format of the rest of the numbers on the column but the program automatically erases the dot and leaves the number as it was.

This also generates a problem when trying to color code the whole document, as only some cells are colored as shown below:

Im a noob when it comes to sheets and im not really sure what I should do to prevent this from happening and be able to color code properly the whole document.

Please be more specific. Can you verify that on your example there are seven columns that have colored cells in them? I want to be able to talk about specific columns while trying to answer your question.

Correction: There are only five columns in your example that have colored cells. Correct?

yes indeed, only first, third, fourth, sixth and seventh column are colored.

Tried to follow the steps on the answer provided by erAck below but it didnt work.

Looks like your left aligned “numbers” are text content instead of numeric content. Try this FAQ.
