I have about 500 customer address labels in libreoffice writer which is super easy to print but not so easy to locate customers individually. I would like to put them in something that makes it easy to sort as well as print. For example, if I want to know if someone is a new or existing customer I have to search the list. If I could sort them alphabetically I could easily see if they're already an existing customer. Is there an easy way to do that without having to retype every name and address?

Have you tried "Find"? From menu Edit->Find. With that you can search for a name or even partial name.

For your actual request, with labels (or any Name and address text type list) there probably isn't any easy method to automate this. Best may be simply to start by creating a spreadsheet and copy/paste line by line. Then when completed from there you can create a database to use as input to doing mail merge. LO documentation has information -> Documentation/Publications.
