Thx in advance

I think this is a bug in 4.1 see FDO#67699.

As workaround change the file extension to html and import in calc through Menu/Insert/File or Sheet from File or link to external data.

The FDO#67699 apears to be the problem im having.
thx.

I tested on XP/SP3 unsing Libo 4.0.4.2 and consider the file as opening correctly. Please screenshots, which I created from the original xls-file.

The bug is a regression in 4.1 version, so while it is not solved, perhaps better stay with 4.0.4

Hope the “regression” becomes a “progression” soon. im not up to uninstall 4.1 and install again 4.0.4 on 200 pcs, some on remote slow links. Thx.

I can confirm that the file is correctly imported by LibreOffice Calc 4.0.4.2 in Ubuntu 12.04 (from PPA):
