The lock file could not be created...

since upgraded to Catalina I get this message when trying to open documents in Mail in a MacBook Air:

The lock file could not be created for exclusive access by LibreOffice, due to missing permission to create a lock file on that file location or lack of free disk space.

Any way round this?

Thanks

lack of free disk space

Did you check free disk space?

missing permission

Did you check permission on the file location?
Are you working with files on some cloud service?

Finally: Which LibreOffice Version are you using?

And; First try to save your document from your email app to some directory known to work with LibreOffice an open with LibreOffice from this location (Double click on an attachment creates a temporary copy of the attachment to a temporary location, which might have new permission settings on your new version of Mac OS X)

yes, plenty of free disk space.

And - no, not using a cloud service, and using the latest stable version - 6.2.7.1

As to checking permissions - I have changed all permissions to read and write.

It seems due to new policy from Macos 10.15 (Catalina), see https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128526

I have the same problem on Mojave. Of course it might have a different root cause…but permissions and disk space are fine.
