Missing spreadsheet icon in Impress Tasks/Layout

I want to insert a blank spreadsheet in Impress. Online I have seen a help page which shows a choice of icons in Layouts (in the Task pane). One of them is a spreadsheet. I am using Ubuntu. Is this for the Windows version of Impress only?

It’s true that there is not a spreadsheet option on the Insert toolbar, but did you check the online documentation?

Thank you for your response. I did see that online documentation. When you click on the outside of the spreadsheet, as it says to do, nothing appears. I finally found out that numbers only will appear on your blank slide AFTER you put some data into the cells. But there is no spreadsheet grid.

You can make the cells of the spreadsheet visible by selecting them and applying borders. Alternatively, can you achieve what you want by inserting a table rather than a spreadsheet?
Even when you insert a spreadsheet it only displays the contents, you can’t interact with it as a spreadsheet during a presentation (as far as I know - happy to be proven wrong). If this is what you want, you could insert a hyperlink in the presentation to the full version of the spreadsheet. A neat trick is to insert a screenshot of the spreadsheet, then right click the image and choose Interaction>>Go To Document and link to your spreadsheet.
