How do i delete printers in libre office

how do i delete printers in libre office. I Have just reinstalled my printer drivers & the printer is not printing.

Probably nothing to do with LibreOffice. Printers are attached at operating system level. First try to print from some other program, does it print successfully? Did you restart LibreOffice after installing printer driver?

Assuming you are using Windows??

The printers that show up in the LO print dialog are those installed via the operating system. If you go to the printer properties (in the Windows Control Panel) and a test print works then the device should be usable to LO.

Select the command on the Command tab page. You can remove superfluous commands using the Remove button. On the Paper tab page, you can define the paper format and paper tray to be used as the default settings for this printer.
If anyone face printer error clicks on this Epson error code 0x9a

I have the same problem (under Windows 7).

The printer is no longer attached to the network. Windows “Devices and Printers” no longer shows it. But LibreOffice’s PRINT dialog still shows it.

In LibreOffice’s PRINT dialog, highlighting the printer name and then pressing DEL, or DEL+ALT, or DEL+CTL, does nothing.

How can I get rid of it?

Stephen,
I had the same problem with Libre Office Version: 4.3.1.2
Build ID: 958349dc3b25111dbca392fbc281a05559ef6848.
I’m using Win 7 Pro 64bit. In printer install I somehow had 2 printers, same model but second had the suffix (2). Just annoying. Removed it from Win 7 but it still appeared in Libre Office.
On a lark I decided to look in another application (Notepad++ Ver.5.9.4) to see if the erroneous printer appeared there. Continued in next Comment…

It did but in Notepad++ via the drop-down menu - “File”, “Print” - in the “Select Printer” window at the top of the Print dialog box that pops up, I could right click on the duplicate printer and delete it. To my amazement when I restarted Libre Office the printer was no longer listed. I don’t think there’s anything special about NotePad++, regular Notepad on Windows has the same Print window, perhaps that will work as well. Good luck.

Windows Notepad ‘Print’ menu item had my unused printer in it, as the previous comment suggested it might, and sure enough I could just delete it from the Notepad ‘Print’ menu! Amazing, strange and typical.

It is still very very relevant. Today May 18, 2021 on Win 10.
In LO the print dialog box shows three printer names, two old ones and the just installed new working printer.
Went into Notepad, and the dialog box displayed the three names. clicked on old ones and pushed delete key. It deleted them both, the second one came off with a message similar to …not installed / not available…but it deleted them both.
Went back into LO and the print dialog box showed only the one valid printer.

So Windows is storing the printers in some intermediate place. Who knows where. ???
And WHY would they do that. The print dialog box should refresh on the available printers each time
it is called.
