Previous versions were distributed as “.msi”. This one is distributed as “.man”. Cannot find any details of how or where to install it.

Wellcome to Ask.LibreOffice! What language is that you are trying to download. Spanish package for Windows has .msi extension, and so should all others. Check that the file has downloaded completely and this .man is not a partial download (from some download manager).
Language I want is English GB. It’s a .man file on the LO web site.
I can bluff my way in Spanish by extrapolating from French and Italian, but it’s not a good idea for a help file!
