When I try to access my documents, LibreOffice says it crashed but will attempt to recover document. I push “Start.” Next it say status “Recovery failed.” I push “Finish” and for some unknown reason my documents come up on my screen. This is frightening because I have all my important documents now in LibreOffice. H E L P!
Can I uninstall Libre and reinstall it without harm to my existing documents?

I found the solution in another place … I had said, “When I try to access my documents, LibreOffice says it crashed but will attempt to recover document.”
BUT BUT BUT … DO NOT PUSH “Start.” as I had been doing. PUSH THE OTHER CHOICE. I forget the name but it means to quit. When I did that it did something to the glitch and all of a sudden all my documents opened normally. I even restarted my computer to be sure the problem was solved and now LibreOffice works perfectly.

I have this problem and either option will work. I even completely removed LO and installed again and problem remain. (Ubuntu 19.10. repostory) No cure, can’t wait, I have to use google docs now.
