Tricks to disable file locking not working V6.3.2.2

I had previously disabled file locking but with a new install it has returned.

   Version: 6.3.2.2
   Build ID: 1:6.3.2-0ubuntu2

These do not work :

1,
files - How to disable locking in LibreOffice? - Ask Ubuntu.

No effect even after reboot.

You can disable that, by using
Options-LibreOffice-Advanced-Open
Expert Configuration, searching for
UseLocking and
setting it to false

The UseLocking field is blank and not editable.

“Locking” does not appear in the registrymodifications.xcu file

Hello,

Just tested #2 (Options) and it worked without a problem. LO v6.3.3.2 from TDF on Ubuntu 18.04 Mate. The UseLocking property is a Boolean type. Just double clicking on the line will change it from ‘true’ to ‘false’ or in reverse. If yours is actually blank you may have other problems.

Make sure you are looking at the line which has ‘UseLocking’ in the property column. If not seen and only see ‘org.openoffice.Office.Common’ , then double click that line to open it and should be revealed.

Thank you. I am on 19.10 MATE. I have now downloaded and installed 6.3.3.2, even rebooted but my libreoffice version still shows as LibreOffice 6.3.2.2 30(Build:2). Do you have any idea about that? The problem persists.

Did you remove the previous version before installing the new version? Based upon your question installing a different version most likely would not solve whatever problem you may be having. It may be a user profile problem. See → LibreOffice user profile
