I have tried three times with every option they give me, and it just sits there with no action.

The LibreOffice OLD directory always has all the released versions.
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/
Find the folder for version number you want - for example 6.2.8.2
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/6.2.8.2/
Then pick the folder for your operating system.
And download the appropriate Help file too.
On the website download page the Windows downloads annoyingly only use three numbers like 6.2.8.
You can see the Linux downloads have the full 6.2.8.2 - which shows you the actual current version.
I have gotten in the habit of using the above OLD download folder to get files which are named properly.
Makes it a lot easier to come back to a file with a correct version number months later.
