The Libre spreadsheet has the ending ODS and the printer can not read it.

By “local printer”, do you mean …
- a physical print device connected to your computer?
- a standalone device which must open your file (e.g. from USB stick) to print it?
- a print business (“Ye Olde Printing Shopp” down on the corner)?
- something else?
For the first one, you should have no trouble as long as the printer is properly installed (can print a “test page”, or works from other apps). The others may need you to “virtually print” or export your file to a PDF file or similar.
A common cause for print problems is that there is a print range defined in the file. If that print range is empty, nothing will print. Try menu item Format - Print ranges - Clear, and see whether you can print.
You are not by chance sending the file to the printer, are you?
You have to open it in LibreOffice and print from there.
