LibreOffice Calc - Edit Cell Mode - Enter Key bug

I’ve assigned the Enter key for “Edit Cell Mode”. By doing this, when pressing the Enter key to complete filling a cell, it now takes 2 Enter key presses, when editing a blank new cell, rather than only 1 Enter key press.

Is there an option for this, or is this a LibreOffice bug?

Thanks!

And why do you assume a correct behavior a bug? You assigned a key to a function and this is working - you enter “Edit Cell Mode” by pressing ENTER (and you leave it by pressing ENTER again - as with every edit). In fact I don’t understand the idea behind that at all: If you want to edit a blank new cell, just starting to type your data should do the job.

I apologize, I did not mean to offend. However, this behavior happens even when I just start typing data in a cell (without previously pressing Enter). I still have to press Enter twice (2) to “finish editing”. When I edit a cell that already has content, only one (1) Enter key press is necessary.

Still, while having Enter customized for “Cell Edit Mode”, if I press F2 to edit a cell (empty, or with content), only one (1) Enter key press is necessary. I may be missing something, but this behavior does not seem consistent.

No reason to apologize - my bad, I just could not understand, since I’m used to just starting to type

Instead of assigning the Enter key to Edit Cell Mode, enable Tools → Options → Calc → General, Input Settings, Press Enter to switch to edit mode.

BOOM!!! Thank you!
