LibreCalc fonts/screen not displayed properly

[Using Linux Mint 19.2, LO via Flatpak]

I have not been able to upgrade LO above version 6.2.5.2 because the rows/fonts just aren’t being displayed properly. I had thought that this was an issue with Flatpak, but installed via the Ubuntu PPA caused the same problem.

Here are screenshots of what I’m experiencing. What I’m most concerned about are the almost unreadable row numbers (all washed out in dark grey); the font looks horrible:

I’ve tried changing fonts (current font is Font-Awesome), even going back to the default Liberation Sans, but it doesn’t help. On another note, my spreadsheets load extremely slow on 6.3 and above, whereas 6.2 loads almost instantly.

What is your problem exactly - the blurry characters in Bad Image or the # # # in Date or the character distance or all? Anyway - without some technical information hard to tell. Please provide

• Operating system and version
• Font used
• Font OK in other applications?

Could you upload a sample file showing (for you) the problem?

OK, I made the requested changes. I’ll have to make up a spreadsheet later to upload; nothing I can use at the moment. (spreadsheet has been uploaded)

Can’t see any problem displaying test.ods in 6.3.4.2 on openSUSE 15.1 / 6.3.2.2 on Mint 19.2 - Just wonder why I see font Verdana, though you wrote something about fonts Font-Awesome and Liberation Sans.

On the test spreadsheet, I reset the fonts back to Verdana (my original choice) before uploading it. I’m going to keep playing around with different fonts to see if that really is the issue. Thanks for your input.

After a couple of days, I’ve settled on using Roboto; the fonts now display properly, but the row numbers still look weird (no change from the Bad Image picture). Hopefully the next update will fix this.

I finally got the rows to display properly. I had to change my default system font (didn’t like Font Awesome) to something a little more mainstream; using Bitstream Vera Sans now.
