A simple formula for running balances in a column, e.g. =SUM(H1:H49), irratically changes, e.g. the first cell H1 will become H4 or H23 or H anything! I see this after opening or saving the file and when I step down through each row looking at the formula to see if it changed. I will see that some of the cells in the column will have the first cell in the formula changed and others will have not changed. Is there a lock feature that prevents changes from occuring such as this?
Did you copy the formula to other cells? If yes - I suggest you get familiar with absolute and relative addressing .e.g. here
