I can't find a multi-segment line tool in draw

I’m trying to figure out how to draw a free-form shape in draw. I looked at a youtube tutorial and it said to click on the multi-segment line tool, but I don’t seem to have one of those.

Please, always say your operate system and LibreOffice version.

You can either use the “Curves and polygons” button on the left toolbar or the the corresponding button in the Shapes panel in the Sidebar

Is this the only solution to this problem? I am looking to draw a multi-segment line tool that draw multiple straight lines. At the moment I’m limited to copy and pasting multiple simple straight lines. Also the freeform line tool doesn’t have an option to draw a multi-segmented that’s not ‘wavy’ which is a pity.

Thank you! That helped.

IanVG, Shoemaker71, etc:

The way to accomplish multi-segmented lines is to use the draw line tool and then insert new points on the line. Right click on the line you have drawn and select Points on the resulting pop-up dialogue. In the toolbar at the top you will notice new icons pop up - one of them will be Insert Points. Click on it, your cursor will change to a crosshair, then hover the crosshair over the line, press and hold down left mouse button, a new point will appear on the line and then drag the point as you wish while holding down the left mouse button. Release the mouse button and your point will remain put. Insert as many points as you wish. While in line edit mode, you can re-configure your line as desired. See also the answer here:

This will save you a ton of time compared to the alternatives!

LibreOffice 6.0.7.3 on Ubuntu

Mark

Draw Polygon
Or, menu Shape - Insert - Curves and Polygons - Polygon.

LibreOffice 7.1.7.2 on Linux.

But original question is about…

I was reacting to the topic title and to IanVG’s comment - he was looking to draw a multi-segmented line without the free-form wavy look. You are correct, LeroyG, the polygon draw tool also achieves the same results in addition to my suggestion.
