Header/footer don't fill

In a blank page,I created a header and footer. However, after naming and saving the document none of the info shows - ex: It still shows “File name” instead of C:\Users\GLW. This goes for all the other inserted data, too. Interestingly, when I did a copy of the footer to show you, the paste had all the correct data. It just doesn’t show on the text page. Thanks.

RTFM.

I assume, though you didn’t mention it, that this data was provided by fields. To ease debugging document construction and to give clues about document structure, non-typed data can be shown in two modes: “technical” and final content.

The mode is controlled by View>Field Names for fields and many other options for other “objects”.

The option must be unchecked to display field content.

Also, since you seem to under Windows, refrain from storing your document as .doc(x), the loading/saving conversions may destroy information needed to restore document formatting as you designed it.
