Sometimes the UI starts blinking every 0.5-1.5 seconds, until file-save. Why?

my Calc is constantly open, with at least 1 file.

Sometimes the UI starts flickering (but not the sheet contents)
The flickers occure every ~1 to 1.5 seconds.
During that time, Clac is lagging, slightly less responsive.

This all stops when the current file is saved (ctrl+s)

I don’t see any open dialog anywhere.
It happens for at least a month.
My settings:

Ubuntu 16

• Kubuntu
• Libreoffice 6.2.8

Do you possibly work with a password-protected DOC(X) or XLS(X)? There was a bug that autorestore could not be created for those files (fixed already) - tdf#118639; the attempts to save would be seen as the “UI blinking” (but only every ~5 s, not 1-1.5), and would stop when you save the file (because since it’s unmodified, nothing is to be put into autorestore copy).

It is possible. The fires indeed where XLSX. And Indeed I haven’t seen these bugs for a while.
