When I shut down Calc, Writer shut down instead

I was working on important schoolwork, and when I tried to close Calc, it asked if I wanted to save my changes. I had done some temporary work on the spreadsheet and didn’t want to save it, so I said “No”. Instead of Calc closing, Writer closed on the other monitor and I lost over an hour’s work (it dumped all of the autosave backups) - I had to do all that work over in a few minutes and was almost late for class. I didn’t have the two programs confused - I use two monitors and Write was on one while Calc was on the other. I’ve encountered something like this before in the past… with Microsoft Office products. Is this a known bug? If so, is there a workaround?

I’d copied several spreadsheets into the document, which may have provided some sort of linkage between the two.

You do not mention your operating system or LO version. I can’t replicate the described behaviour here under GNU/Linux running v4.1.0.4. The shared components of LO does mean that this could be a bug you are witnessing. I can’t locate an existing open bug that relates to this issue. If you can repeat the problem then we can obtain a trace and perhaps an idea about what is going on. If it is repeatable then you should raise a bug and include as much detail as possible.

Sorry, I’m running Linux Ubuntu 12.04LTS (32 bit version), after upgrading from 10.04LTS. I believe that the version of LibreOffice is 3.5 (that computer is at school, 30 plus miles away).

I’ll have to wait until I’m at school (next week)… and not under a lot of pressure, and then I’ll see if I can replicate it.
