My comments in Calc have disappeared

When I opened my Calc document the other day, I noticed that the comment indicators are missing on my recent spreadsheet pages. What happened to them, and can they be recovered?

Same thing happened to me. Windows Vista, Calc Version 4.0.5.2. .ods file format.

The current sheet (tab) has all of its comments but older tabs have comments wiped clean. Not sure exactly when this happened as I only need to look at the older tabs in the workbook every month or so.

A long long time ago this was an excel workbook that I saved into .ods format.

The option to display comments is turned on.

I opened the file in Libreoffice 3.5 and it looks the same.

My comments in calc (4.1.6.2) have also disapeared.
It was only the current sheet, all other sheets are ok.
The file type is ods (its possible that the file were created originally with openoffice)
Is it possible to retrieve it?

happened again on 09. Jan. 2018. My Windows System is 8.1

Please what is your Operating System, LibreOffice version, and file type used?

Maybe has been changed the option in:
Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice Calc/View/Display - Comment indicator.

Maybe something in relation with this bugs: fdo#71478 or fdo#69408

I’ve had all my comments disappear in Calc (V. 4.4.2.2 in Windows 8.1 and 10). Upgraded to V. 5.0.3.2 and now I cannot even enter a comment (box appears, but cannot type in it). Essentially, LibreOffice Calc has just dropped the capability of entering comments. I wish they had told me before I entered 20 of the in the last version)

Just happened to me the same problem, my comments have just disappeared on one sheet, all other sheets are ok, no comment loss. (ods file type)

What can we do solve this problem?
