Document Hyperlinks

I don’t think this has been raised. When copy a heading 3 (a section in my document) within my document and paste it at the front (top) of the document so I can get quick links to those sections and then try to insert a hyperlink, The action to Apply actually selects the destination as the top of the document heading (i.e. itself). The action of selecting within the list the heading lowest in the list (the heading is duplicated in the list) causes the selection within that list to flip back to the top of document heading. I find it necessary to make sure the top of document heading (the one from which I want to ‘click’ to go down to the actual section) must not be the the same AND I must not subsequently change the actual section heading (looses the hyperlink).

Is this right. Would it not be better to have the hyperlink independent of the text of the headings?

Your explanation is not very clear. Edit (don’t answer) your question to better describe your goal and present procedure.

If you want hyperlinks to headings, have you tried to insert a TOC? A TOC has by default hyperlinks to the headings.
