no functions shown in base

Just starting using Base instead of Access, which I’ve used extensively for 15 years. Loaded a spreadsheet as a table, and wanted to do something in a query with the functions, but…none are shown. The drop-down list only has “no function.”

Is this because I am using a spreadsheet? Would it work if I converted the spreadsheet (XL) to a table? I am using LO 6.3

Hello,

Yes, linking to a spreadsheet is not the same as an actual table.

Note, you cannot mix the two in a Base file. The Base file is either linked to a spreadsheet or connected to a database.
