On windows xp w/svc pk 3, Home Edition 2002 installed LOffice On boot up of LOffice about 25% of the way I receive the error:

LibreOffice 4.1 **Either another instance of LibreOffic is accessing your personal settings of your personal settings are locked. Simultaneous access can lead to inconsistencies in your personal settings. Before continuing, you should make sure user "closes LibreOffice on host". Do you really want to continue? Yes No

I have searched the task manager but cannot find any cue to the problem. If I click "Yes" LOffice continues to the splash screen but the tool bar for file, view, tools, etc said "not responding" then after several short seconds the command takes action. a "No" shuts down LOffice Options runs slow and gives not responding at first and then reponds.

If there are really two LibreOffice programs to access the user profile at the same time and you can't find the program in Task Manager, then try to restart Windows.

If this does not work, then maybe your user profile got corrupted in some way. Close down all LibreOffice programs if opened and rename user profile. This is done by renaming directory: C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\LibreOffice to some other name like C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\LibreOffice_backup Then rerun LibreOffice? New profile will be created during LibreOffice start-up. Does LibreOffice starts successfully?
