Libreoffice Writer font change with Ctrl-A doesn't work at the end of paragraph.

When I change the font of the whole document, e.g. from Courier to Times New Roman, by selecting the whole document with Ctrl-A, the font of the document does change, but there’s a problem. At the end of each paragraph, if I insert new characters (by typing), it is inserted in previous font (Courier, in this example). That is to say, the font change doesn’t work for the new characters in the document. How do I change that?

Edit I’ve later found out that this problem arises when I edit a docx file. When I edit a odt file, it works perfectly. I could just edit in odt and then convert it to docx (I need to submit the doc in docx) but that seems menial and annoying. I would still like to know if there is a solution to this problem.

change the font of the whole document

Learn and use styles.

I use styles for large documents, after I’ve finished my actual writing. I just sometimes, in the middle of work of an early draft, change font for the comfort of my eye. I’ve a weird mental problem where changing fonts make my eyes feel less stressful.

File a bug report with exact steps.

Aside (and note this aside, since that is still a bug):

I could just edit in odt and then convert it to docx (I need to submit the doc in docx) but that seems menial and annoying.

Whenever you are working with any application, it’s wise to use its native file format. Only using native file format, you are most sure you don’t have problems related to incorrect/incomplete/impossible conversion of some information/formatting to and from the foreign file format at every open and save. So however “menial and annoying” it might seem, this is the proper workflow.
