Would you tell the version of writer, as well as the platform (WIndows/Linux/Mac OS) ?

Perhaps, you tap your touchpad accidentally, and the cursor goes wild.

it happens on my wifes hp laptop, she is an expert typist and we have tried dialing back the touchpad sensitivity to no avail. I have not upgraded to version 4 however. I think that may be my next step.

I am using ubuntu with LO version 4.0.5.2 and so far didn't find any major problem. Just upgrade from older version several days ago. I didn't have any plan to upgrade to version 4.1. which, still has some annoying bugs (text running around, etc)
