how to stop text from jumping back two rows?

when typing in Writer thecursor will randomly jump back two rows, usually to the last ‘m’

Would you tell the version of writer, as well as the platform (WIndows/Linux/Mac OS) ?

version 3.6 Linux Mint

Perhaps, you tap your touchpad accidentally, and the cursor goes wild.

it happens on my wifes hp laptop, she is an expert typist and we have tried dialing back the touchpad sensitivity to no avail. I have not upgraded to version 4 however. I think that may be my next step.

I am using ubuntu with LO version 4.0.5.2 and so far didn’t find any major problem. Just upgrade from older version several days ago. I didn’t have any plan to upgrade to version 4.1. which, still has some annoying bugs (text running around, etc)

I am using Libre Office write with annoying events…the cursor jumps to random places, maybe a couple of lines back, maybe into space…and the notice to save or lose keeps appearing when I am in no intention to close as I am in the midst of editing…help is needed here. What does “direct Cursor” do dfor ardoes that in any way help this situation…new Linux and so f…(pdfor ump)roof of cursor j do ndfor ike itot l
